Indian café Chaiiwala opens second drive through as it targets 500 locations

Indian street food café Chaiiwala has opened its second drive-through location as it targets 500 locations internationally over the next 10 years. The 2,000 sq ft restaurant has opened in partnership with EG On The Move at a former KFC and Costa site in Mellor Brook, outside Blackburn. The new restaurant is Chaiiwala's 112th location worldwide, and comes after the brand recently opened in Bolton, launching the UK's first drive-through restaurant that serves Indian street food.
Proposals submitted to complete £15m Shankly Hotel development

Development at a Preston hotel which was halted by administration troubles could be resumed after the submission of fresh plans. Proposals submitted by Signature Living for the Shankly Hotel could see the creation of a new bar and restaurant, wedding and events space, and a spa. Signature Living purchased the property, which was formerly a Post Office building, from Preston City Council in 2018.
IKEA opens 'Plan & Order Point' in Preston

IKEA has launched a third north west 'Plan & Order Point' in Preston, following openings in Aintree and Stockport. The 1,300 sq ft unit at Deepdale Retail Park is designed to offer customers inspiration for kitchen and bedroom planning. It also houses a click-and-collect service for any products ordered online. The launch is part of a wider strategy by the Swedish furniture retailer to become more sustainable and accessible for customers in the North West, which IKEA area manager Michael Parker described as a “key region”.
