Market Place in Bolton has appointed Dave Pearman as general manager, bringing over 25 years of property management experience to the mixed-use destination. Pearman has previously held senior roles at Manchester Corn Exchange and Runcorn Shopping Centre, and has significant experience with mixed leisure, office, residential and standalone retail developments. His career began with the Sainsbury's Argos group, where he managed various high-profile projects, building relationships with agents through refurbishments and refits that eventually led him into shopping centre management.

JD Sports is upsizing its presence at Charter Walk Shopping Centre in Burnley after signing a new ten-year lease. The sports fashion retailer will relocate from its current 3,973 sq ft store into a larger, 5,817 sq ft unit located opposite River Island and Superdrug. Landlord works are currently being undertaken by Burnley Council to amalgamate six vacant units for JD Sports' new store, with a summer opening being targeted.

Market Place in Bolton has welcomed the opening of five new stores within the last six months, totalling over 33,000 sq ft of space. Leading the new arrivals is Primark, which relocated from its existing store at Crompton Place Shopping Centre to a 26,300 sq ft unit within the former Debenhams store. The new store – which forms part of Primark's £100m investment into its UK store estate – features a modern layout with self-checkout facilities and LED lighting.
