Activewear brand Alo Yoga is set to open its first UK store outside of London on Manchester's New Cathedral Street. The brand has signed a 10-year lease for a 7,018 sq ft unit, and will join recent arrivals Arc'teryx and Represent on the luxury shopping street. Five major retailers at the Manchester Arndale shopping centre have agreed new long-term leases, with the tenants signing for an extra 30 years in total. Leading the signings is footwear retailer Deichmann, which has agreed to upsize its existing 6,357 sq ft unit, taking an additional 2,101 sq ft of space on a 10-year lease. Meanwhile, Waterstones has signed a seven-year lease for its 15,717 sq ft, while The Body Shop and Victoria's Secret have both agreed five-year leases for their respective 2,061 sq ft and 5,093 sq ft spaces.

Two retail and hospitality occupiers have opened within the Manchester suburb of Didsbury, with Savills acting for the landlord on each of the lettings. At 756 Wilmslow Road, homeware and fashion retailer Oliver Bonas has signed a 10-year agreement with landlord Hyrst Garth Estate for a two-storey, 5,000 sq ft unit. Meanwhile, at the nearby 41/43 Lapwing Lane, Portas Tapas has opened its fourth restaurant in the North West of England after signing a 10-year lease with Lapwing Investments for a ground floor and basement unit, totalling 2,400 sq ft.
