LondonMetric Property has sold a Lidl supermarket with an unexpired lease term of 17 years in Basildon, Essex, for £8.8m. The transaction was completed as part of a wider sell-off by LondonMetric, which saw it dispose of seven assets for a total of £85m, reflecting a net initial yield of 5.3%. Also included in the sales were two Ramsay hospitals for £59.1m, two logistics warehouses for £13m, and two Travelodge hotels for £4.

Eastgate Shopping Centre is set to undergo a change of ownership after Basildon Council agreed to acquire the Essex shopping centre. Eastgate's existing management team will look to work closely with Basildon Council, retailers, and partners to build on the progress already being made at the scheme while also supporting the delivery of future regeneration plans. The centre is currently looking forward to the opening of the new Eastgate Health Centre, which will bring healthcare services into the heart of the town.

Dockside at Chatham Maritime has welcomed food and beverage operators Bakers + Baristas and YouMeSushi after both agreed long-term leases at the Kent waterside destination. The operators have each signed 10-year leases at the mixed-use scheme, adding to a food and drink offering that includes Zizzi, Wagamama, and recent arrivals McDonald's and Sotto Lounge. A specialist in coffee, cakes, and pastries, Bakers + Baristas has opened a 1,750 sq ft unit within Dockside.
