Local authority to acquire Basildon's Eastgate Shopping Centre

Eastgate Shopping Centre is set to undergo a change of ownership after Basildon Council agreed to acquire the Essex shopping centre. Eastgate's existing management team will look to work closely with Basildon Council, retailers, and partners to build on the progress already being made at the scheme while also supporting the delivery of future regeneration plans. Jack & Jones is set to open a flagship store at Landsec's Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent this October. Spanning 6,370 sq ft, the fashion retailer's new space will be located on Lower Thames Walk and will be the brand's second in the UK to feature its 'One Concept' design. This was first introduced in late 2024 with the launch of the Jack & Jones' store on London’s Oxford Street. Situated next to Stradivarius, the store will offer Jack & Jones’ collections of menswear and childrenswear.

Montreal-born fashion and lifestyle brand GARAGE is set to continue its UK expansion with the opening of a new store at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Essex. The brand – which made its UK debut on Oxford Street earlier this year – has secured a 4,221 sq ft space on the scheme's upper level. GARAGE will offer a range of apparel and accessories to a catchment of 8.5 million people, and looks to draw inspiration from the energy and styles of New York and Los Angeles.
