Shopping CentreKirkby Town Centre is a 225,000 sq ft open air community shopping centre in the heart of Kirkby, a town located six miles north east of Liverpool. The shopping centre is adjacent to key public services and a popular market, and has an occupier line-up comprising a number of high street retailers such as Iceland, Home Bargains, Superdrug and Costa. Kirkby Town Centre was acquired by Knowsley Council in November 2019. This is the first time that the Council has owned the town centre and it will now kick-start a long-planned retail development in the area, which includes the construction of a 45,000 sq ft Morrisons superstore.

Liverpool ONE reports busiest Christmas in six years
2 January 2025
Liverpool ONE has recorded its strongest festive shopping season since 2019 last year, after the shopping centre welcome 22 brands in 2024. The successful period began with the Black Friday week, during which the scheme recorded an increase in footfall of 14% and a growth in sales of 28%. This performance continued into December with footfall increasing by 10%, in comparison to a 2.2% decline for the UK as a whole, according to data from the British Retail Consortium.

Liverpool shopping centre redevelopment set for approval
5 January 2025
Plans to redevelop the Bootle Strand shopping centre in Liverpool look set to be given the go-ahead by councillors next week. The planning application includes proposals for the creation of a new town square and landscaping work to better connect the scheme with the nearby Salt and Tar events venue. There are also proposals to divide the former M&S building into six individual units. The application will be considered by Sefton Council's planning committee next Wednesday (15th January).

Liverpool ONE kicks of 2025 with opening of upsized Zara

Zara has opened its upsized store at Liverpool ONE shopping centre, marking the beginning of what is set to become the Liverpool scheme's biggest-ever year for openings. The Inditex-owned fashion retailer has increased its presence at Liverpool ONE by 55%, upsizing from 27,200 sq ft to 42,000 sq ft at its flagship store on South John Street. Set across two floors, the reopened store offers a larger collection of menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear.
