Tameside Council has acquired the Arcades Shopping Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, from Fairacre Property. The 140,000 sq ft scheme is home to national retailers including Boots, Home Bargains, Peacocks, Greggs, and Costa Coffee. This follows Tameside Council's acquisition of Ladysmith Shopping Centre, which sits adjacent to the Arcades Shopping Centre, from NewRiver REIT in May.

The Trafford Centre in Manchester is set to welcome Dave's Hot Chicken to The Orient, its food and beverage quarter, this October. The restaurant will serve the brand's signature Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders, alongside sides and shakes. Designed for occasions ranging from grab-and-go lunches to late-night dining, the fast-casual concept joins a lineup of over 50 food and beverage operators at Trafford Centre.

The Entertainer has opened a new store at the Trafford Centre, bringing a full-range specialist toy offer to the Manchester scheme for the first time since 2018. The opening comes amid a period of accelerated expansion for The Entertainer, which has opened eight new stores over the past 12 months. The new store offers over 3,000 toys, games, and collectibles from leading global manufacturers, and is expected to rival its flagship at Bluewater for the top sales ranking across the retailer’s 150-plus stores.
