The former Debenhams department store at Merry Hill shopping centre in the West Midlands has been fully let after the signing of Funstation as its anchor leisure operator. The 23,700 sq ft venue – called 'Carnival Golf & Games' – will offer multiple indoor golf courses alongside immersive video, virtual reality games, and escape rooms. Funstation becomes the third operator to take space at the former Debenhams store at Merry Hill, joining retailer Harvey Norman and fitness operator XF Gym.

Railpen, the manager of the UK's railway pension scheme, has completed the first phase of the transformation of Multistory, its office-led development in Birmingham. This first phase comprises 27,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space on the ground and lower floors of the development. Two existing buildings are being combined to create Multistory, the ground floors of which have been merged to create eight retail units.

Marks & Spencer is set to introduce its latest store concept to Merry Hill in Dudley, following a significant investment package. The retailer – which has been at Merry Hill since 1990 – will introduce a new fit-out and an M&S Café for the first time at the scheme. Working in partnership with the centre owners, M&S will be consolidating its two existing units into one, with the store next to Primark set to expand to an overall area of 93,000 sq ft.
