Metrocentre in Gateshead has welcomed new investment from four brands across its Platinum and Green Malls. Leading the investments is Boots, which has refreshed its existing 40,000 sq ft space within the scheme's Green Mall. The health and beauty retailer – which has been in residence at Metrocentre for almost 40 years – has looked to improve accessibility to its products as well as its opticians' services.

Since taking on asset management at the scheme in 2022, Global Mutual has increased its occupancy from 87.3% upon acquisition to fully let today. This has been accomplished with the signing of CafeBar eighteen38, which has taken the final unit at Dalton Park Outlet.

Urban Outfitters to open first store of 2025 at Metrocentre

Urban Outfitters has signed for its first new store of the year at Metrocentre in Gateshead. Opening this summer, the brand's flagship store will span 8,000 sq ft and sit adjacent to fellow fashion retailers Zara, H&M, and New Look. Urban Outfitters at Metrocentre – which will become the brand's second within the region – will offer a range of menswear and womenswear, alongside accessories and homeware.
