Stradivarius has made its debut in the North East of England at Metrocentre in Gateshead. Extending to 10,000 sq ft, the womenswear brand's store is located on the Lower Red Mall, joining other fashion brands including Reiss, Mango, and Zara. Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset manager of Metrocentre, said: “Stradivarius is a great addition to Red Mall, enhancing the line-up by providing a complementary, point of difference to the existing fashion offer.

Competitive socialising concept Activate has opened at Gateshead's Metrocentre. The venue features 12 spaces and nine game types – including laser, mega grid, hoops, portals, and more. The arrival of Activate follows the concept's opening at The O2 in London, which has become the top-performing Activate venue globally. We Do Play – which owns the Activate brand – is also behind other entertainment experiences in the UK, including Flip Out and Putt Putt Social.

Superdrug is set to upsize its store at Metrocentre in Gateshead, making it the health and beauty retailer's largest in the region. This coincides with the scheme's recent signing of Søstrene Grene, which will arrive later this year. Superdrug will upsize its unit within Metrocentre's Red Mall to 10,000 sq ft, representing a 31% increase in size compared to its previous space. The new space will incorporate the retailer's latest fit-out, which includes treatment studios and cosmetic services, alongside new signage, flooring, ceiling tiles, and energy-efficient LED lighting.
