Asda has opened the doors to an 11,000 sq ft store in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, representing one of its largest openings in recent years. The new store represents the latest in a series of investments Asda has made to grow its store estate as part of a long-term strategy to become the UK's second-largest supermarket. Asda said it had made a seven-figure investment to acquire the lease and refit the store.

The Forge Shopping Centre in Stockton Heath, Warrington, has become the latest site to see the installation of Be.EV electric charging hubs. The electric vehicle (EV) charging supplier has partnered for the first time with Warrington Council and the installation marks the beginning of a bigger rollout to bring more EV charging ports to the Cheshire town. Be.EV say the three chargers can charge a typical electric vehicle to 80% within 20 minutes to an hour, compared to a typical 4-6 hours on a 7kW fast charger.
