The proposals, along with a £17m investment from Landsec, will look to create a vibrant, cultural place for residents and visitors, which is expected to open in by 2026. Landsec has lodged plans to create a £17m public square on the site of the former Debenhams at St David's in Cardiff. The former department store – which is currently being demolished – will make way for a 102,041 sq ft city square, with a raised terrace with space for two restaurants. The proposals also include plans for a splash pad and play park, and there is potential for the site to host markets, street food vendors, and other events.
