Continuing the ongoing transformation of Stratford, Sugar House Island comprises some 26 acres of urban regeneration providing 700,000 sq ft of commercial space and 1,200 new homes. Being delivered in phases, there are already approximately 715 residents onsite in 380 completed residential units with a further 244 units (around 500 new residents moving in early 2025). There are already 500 workers amongst the commercial, office and creative space that has been built with likely another 1,000 workers once the Chimney Walk development which will see 220,000 sq ft of offices completed. Already established on the island is a new school 360, East London Dance Studio and Jim & Tonic Bar / Restaurant. When completed the island will be home to a vibrant community where some 6,000 people live, work and unwind.

This proposed mixed use regeneration project was granted outlining planning consent in 2017. The proposals include an exciting 2 level open air destination, creating a real focal point for the town centre. This phased development could start as early as 2020. Hallsville Quarter will revitalise Canning Town with a brand new town centre. The scheme will be delivered over five phases scheduled to complete in 2024. Phase 1 & 2 are now complete with Phase 3 due to deliver 620 homes and 89,000 sq ft of retail, including a boutique cinema. By 2024 an estimated £3.7bn will have been invested in Canning Town and Custom House, creating 10,000+ new homes. This development is well located directly opposite Canning Town Station which provides an interchange between the Jubilee Line and Docklands Light Railway (DLR). iScene is an existing mixed use development which includes an 11-screen cinema with over 600,000 visits per annum, restaurants, leisure uses and a hotel. Our aim is to revitalise iScene by introducing an exciting new restaurant frontage at ground floor, creating an active and vibrant streetscape. A new contemporary façade will refresh iScene, reinforcing the development as the major leisure destination in both Ilford and East London. The new scheme will see a comprehensive refurbishment to provide an attractive and inviting new destination in Ilford town centre. It will have a new set back frontage at ground floor, creating a new external terrace for cafe style dining and a generous walkway alongside. Exposed stone columns complete the contemporary look and create an inviting colonnade. It will have full height, fully glazed and well lit restaurant frontages incorporating clear, modern signage, with well sized and proportioned restaurant units, serviced from a separate enclosed service yard to the rear. There will be enhanced cinema signage and branding, the already successful Cineworld will be more prominent and inviting. The addition of seven restaurants will create an evening destination. It will feature gold coloured façade to the upper levels shimmers in the light, a new landmark building in Ilford. The town has a thriving high street and shopping centre and is marked as an area of opportunity in the London Plan, promoting growth and development. Nearby, the area is seeing continued investment with residential and community facilities being built.

The scheme will provide a mixture of offices, restaurants, educational, theatre and studio space. This regeneration of the Olympic Press and Broadcast Centre will provide 1.2 Million sq ft of commercial space. The whole development aims to build on the creative hertitage of Hackney Wick, has a focus on the community and innovation and will utilise the excellent digital infrastructure that the site provides.

East Ham Market Hall has become an important asset to the local community. Opened in 1922 it filled the gap between street markets and high street shops. It is bang on a bus stop, 7 minute walk from a tube station and there is good car parking nearby. During holidays and weekends, there's often entertainment ranging from face painting to live music. If you're worn out from all your shopping, the East Ham Market Café, another well kept secret, is worth a stop. You'll get a great English cuppa there and lots more. What few people outside the market know is that in January 2002 this café was the location for the shooting of 'Pure', an uplifting British-made film about a family's struggle to survive London. The filming brought a number of actors - including Lord of the Rings and Moulin Rouge star David Wenham - to East Ham Market. The characters who run the stalls know their stuff - many have run their businesses for years and are happy to give their help and advice.
