Former Chesterfield M&S gets new lease of life with Tesco signing

Tesco is set to open a new store on Chesterfield High Street after signing as the new tenant at the former Marks & Spencer building. The building, located at 2-8 High Street, has been vacant since M&S relocated to Ravenside Retail Park in 2022 after decades of trading. The ground floor has since been split into three units, with the central 5,000 sq ft space now set to accommodate a Tesco Express store.

Sheet Anchor Evolve, part of M Core, has acquired 9, 11-13 Market Place in Chesterfield, a retail asset comprising two units, let to Card Factory and Primark. This follows Sheet Anchor Evolve’s acquisition of Chesterfield's Vicar Lane Shopping Centre in June this year. APAM offloads £5.5m Chester retail park

APAM has sold a retail park in Chester to a private investor for £5.5m. The group has offloaded Wheatbridge Retail Park, which spans 52,944 and is fully let to Wickes, Tapi Carpets, and Smyth Toys. The scheme produces a rental income of £544,488 per annum, equating to an average rent of £10.28 per sq ft. It is also supplement by 209 car parking spaces. The subject property is situated 12 miles south of Sheffield and 24 miles north of Derby, in the town’s main retail warehouse pitch.
