Commercial property and investment company LCP, part of M Core, has welcomed Specsavers to M Park Farm shopping centre in Allestree, Derby. The national optician brand opened in a 2,526 sq ft unit after signing a 10-year lease. Specsavers joins other major retail brands at M Park Farm including Boots, Co-op, Farmfoods, and Wilko. Simon Eatough, director and asset manager at LCP, said: “M Park Farm is a well-established shopping centre in Derby suburb, Allestree, comprised over 50 stores ranging from small independent retailers and salons to major national retailers and food outlets.

Evolve Estates, part of M Core, has acquired a food-anchored convenience centre in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. Carters Square serves as the primary retail provision for the town, which is located centrally in Staffordshire, 17 miles east of Stoke-on-Trent and 14 miles north-east of Stafford. The centre comprises 15 units across 68,241 sq ft, with anchor tenants including Asda, Home Bargains and Costa Coffee.

Proposals for the transformation of a derelict Victorian industrial site in Derby into a mixed-use scheme have been submitted to councillors. If approved, the restoration of two Grade II-listed buildings would see the creation of over 110,000 sq ft of commercial space, as well as 276 new homes. The proposals, submitted by Wavensmere Homes in partnership with Clowes Developments, are for the 11.
