APAM has sold a retail park in Chester to a private investor for £5.5m. The group has offloaded Wheatbridge Retail Park, which spans 52,944 and is fully let to Wickes, Tapi Carpets, and Smyth Toys. The scheme produces a rental income of £544,488 per annum, equating to an average rent of £10.28 per sq ft. It is also supplement by 209 car parking spaces. Sheet Anchor Evolve, part of M Core, has acquired Vicar Lane, an open-air retail destination in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Spanning 202,000 sq ft, the asset comprises 34 units let to a mixture of fashion, food, and essential service retailers. It is also supplemented by a 400-space car park. Tenants at Vicar Lane include JD Sports, H&M, Superdrug, Iceland, River Island, and The Works. The scheme also includes civic space at St James' Square, which features a 12 metre LED screen, and is adjacent to several regeneration projects such as the Chesterfield Waterside scheme and the future HS2 station.

Commercial property and investment company LCP, part of M Core, has welcomed Specsavers to M Park Farm shopping centre in Allestree, Derby. The national optician brand opened in a 2,526 sq ft unit after signing a 10-year lease. Specsavers joins other major retail brands at M Park Farm including Boots, Co-op, Farmfoods, and Wilko. Simon Eatough, director and asset manager at LCP, said: “M Park Farm is a well-established shopping centre in Derby suburb, Allestree, comprised over 50 stores ranging from small independent retailers and salons to major national retailers and food outlets.
