Market Place in Bolton has appointed Dave Pearman as general manager, bringing over 25 years of property management experience to the mixed-use destination. Pearman has previously held senior roles at Manchester Corn Exchange and Runcorn Shopping Centre, and has significant experience with mixed leisure, office, residential and standalone retail developments. His career began with the Sainsbury's Argos group, where he managed various high-profile projects, building relationships with agents through refurbishments and refits that eventually led him into shopping centre management.

JD Sports is has tripled the size of its store at Manchester's Trafford Centre, and will reopen what becomes the brand's largest store globally. The sportswear retailer will open the doors to its flagship 41,000 sq ft store, which features a 92-metre frontage, this Saturday (June 7). The store will feature takeovers from brands such as Nike, Adidas, PUMA, On Running, as well as JD Sports exclusives.

A 50% stake in Manchester Arndale Shopping Centre has been placed on the market for around £235m. The former INTU RFC Investors have instructed JLL to market the stake. Spanning 1.6 million sq ft, Manchester Arndale is one of the largest city centre covered shopping complexes in the UK. Tenants at the scheme include Next, JD Sports, Zara, Apple, and Boots, with recent arrivals including Sephora, Joe & The Juice, and Go Outdoors.
