Lululemon has launched a pop-up padel court at Manchester's Trafford Centre to coincide with the opening of its upsized store at the centre. Running for two weeks in July, the pop-up looks to leverage the popularity of the fast-growing sport to drive longer dwell times and repeat visits. The opening forms the latest milestone in the footwear and sportswear retailer's UK retail expansion plans, following recent openings in Manchester Arndale, Trinity Leeds, and Merthyr Tydfil. The centre has welcomed a number of new openings and upsizes in the year-to-date from brands such as Garage, Stradivarius, Lululemon, and UNIQLO. Fashion has been a standout category at Trafford Centre, contributing to 65% of total sales growth in Q1 alone. Fashion category sales have also increased by 27.
