Leisure operator Hollywood Bowl has opened at The Oracle shopping centre in Reading. Located within the former House of Fraser department store, the 38,000 sq ft venue features 24 bowling lanes and a sports bar, a first for Hollywood Bowl. The brand's arrival at The Oracle adds to the scheme’s Riverside leisure offer, providing a key new footfall generator. The launch also follows the recent opening of a new 45,000 sq ft TK Maxx store at The Oracle and comes ahead of the opening of a new 40,000 sq ft Zara store next year.

Newbie is set to continue its nationwide expansion with the opening of its 10th UK store at The Lexicon in Bracknell, Berkshire. The Swedish babies' and children's clothing brand – which is part of the Kappahl Group – will open its store in July, following recent openings in Bromley and Windsor. The arrival of Newbie at The Lexicon forms part of the retailer's long-term growth strategy, with the brand looking to establish a presence in key markets.

Hines has acquired a retail park in Berkshire for a total consideration of approximately £49m. The American real estate company has purchased The Peel Centre in Bracknell from Landsec. The Peel Centre comprises 168,000 sq ft of net rental area, and is home to tenants including Poundland, Halfords, Pets at Home, Currys, Home Bargains, The Range, Dreams, and Tapi Carpets. The asset is situated a short distance from Bracknell town centre, which is home to The Lexicon and Princess Square shopping centres.
