Waitrose has acquired the freehold of Hersham Green Shopping Centre in Surrey, securing the future of the supermarket retailer's existing store at the scheme. As the new owner of the 54,000 sq ft scheme, Waitrose will also become the landlord for 16 additional retail units. The 27,000 sq ft Waitrose store is a hub for the village, offering meat, fish, and deli counters, alongside a dedicated John Lewis click-and-collect point.

Homebuilder London Square has secured planning permission from the London Borough of Merton to transform Wimbledon Bridge House into a mixed-use development. The vacant office building, constructed in 1989, was acquired by London Square earlier this year. It stands in the heart of the town centre opposite Wimbledon train station and close to the All England Lawn Tennis Club, home of the Wimbledon Championships.

Lidl is set to open a new store within a former Wilko unit at 78-82 High Street in Sutton. The supermarket retailer has agreed a 20-year lease with Sutton Council for the unit, which will span 28,000 sq ft at ground floor level. Lidl has now begun construction of the new store, which is set to open early next year. Max Clapton, regional head of property at Lidl GB, said: "We’ve seen demand for our products continue to rise in Sutton and are excited to serve even more of the community here.
