GPE to deliver retail space at mixed-use Soho Square Estate

Great Portland Estates (GPE) has committed to redeveloping its Soho Square Estate in Central London to create a mixed-use block delivering office and retail space. The development will span approximately 90,000 sq ft, comprising 75,000 sq ft of office space and 15,000 sq ft of retail space fronting onto Oxford Street. Located close proximity to Tottenham Court Road station, the scheme will look to strengthen GPE’s presence along the Elizabeth line and complement its existing cluster of buildings in Soho, including the nearby 141 Wardour Street and 16 Dufour’s Place.

Mayor of London hails "momentous" occasion as Oxford Street pedestrianised

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has hailed a "momentous occasion for the capital" as London's Oxford Street becomes permanently traffic-free for the first time. A section of Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street is now closed to private motorised vehicles, buses, taxis, private hire vehicles, cycles, scooters, and pedicabs. The first stage of the pedestrianisation project will see the introduction of a temporary ‘transitional scheme’ aimed at delivering some immediate improvements for visitors, while enabling public feedback to help refine the final designs for a traffic-free Oxford Street.

ONLY to make London outlet debut at The O2

ONLY is set to open its first outlet store in London at Outlet Shopping at The O2. The Danish fashion retailer – which operates over 1,200 stores across Europe, Asia, and North America – will open in a 4,000 sq ft space, in close proximity to the likes of Kate Spade New York, Calvin Klein, and Reiss. ONLY at The O2 will stock a range of womenswear, menswear, and children’s collections, alongside footwear and accessories.
