Sephora is set to open its eighth UK outlet after signing for a new store at Manchester Arndale shopping centre. The beauty retailer has signed a 10-year lease for a 7,300 sq ft space, which will offer over 300 skincare, cosmetic, and beauty brands. Since its founding in 1969, Sephora has grown to over 2,700 stores across 34 countries and has been expanding its UK presence. Sarah Boyd, managing director of Sephora UK, said: “Manchester showed us phenomenal support when we opened our first store in the region, which blew away all our expectations.

New York-listed real estate investment trust (REIT) W. P. Carey has acquired a supermarket and drive-through restaurant property at a Manchester retail park for £20m. The properties at M Park Lime Square are occupied by Morrisons and McDonald's and are both leased on a triple-net basis. M Park Lime Square is located along the A635 east of Manchester city centre. The scheme benefits from high footfall and is supported by its proximity to densely-populated residential areas.

CBRE Investment Management has acquired a retail park in Ashton-Under-Lyne in Manchester from Orchard Street Investment Management for £62m. Located five miles east of the city centre, Snipe Retail Park spans 242,000 sq ft and is anchored by B&Q. CBRE IM was represented by Xprop, whilst Savills acted for Orchard Street. James Hurst, director in investment at Savills, said: “2024 has proved to be a resurgent year in the retail warehouse investment market with strong trade, low vacancy and rental growth driving investment volumes in excess of £3 billion, for only the third time in the last decade.
