Home Bargains is set to open a new store at Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre in Gillingham, Kent. The value retailer has signed a 15-year lease for a 20,000 sq ft ground floor unit, with the store opening in November. The unit, previously occupied by BHS, has been refurbished as part of a multimillion-pound investment programme by the landlord into Hempstead Valley. The South Mall entrance has also been enhanced, incorporating new signage featuring koi carp imagery – a homage to the centre’s original 1980s water feature.

Barclays Bank is set to open a full-service branch at Dockside at Chatham Maritime, designed to serve the Medway region in Kent. The new branch will offer a range of services, including personal and business banking, financial advice, and modern digital banking solutions. Barclays will be situated on the scheme's frontage, joining brands such as McDonald's, Loungers, Zizzi, Wagamama, and M&S.
