Travelodge acquires former Ibis hotel at Bromley shopping centre
4 January 2025
Travelodge has reached an agreement to acquire the former Ibis hotel at The Bromley Mall in South East London. The budget hotel brand – which operates over 600 hotels across the UK, ROI, and Spain – have acquired the building on a 25-year lease. Travelodge will now begin the process of refitting the 59-room hotel this month, with the aim of opening for business by Easter. The building – which fronts on to Elmfield Road – was formerly known as Berkeley House and in later years was the headquarters of Bromley tech company Splash Damage before being extended and converted into an hotel during the late 2010’s.

Evolve Estates acquires Elephant Park retail and leisure space from Lendlease

Evolve Estates has acquired 120,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space at Elephant Park from Lendlease. Located within the Elephant & Castle area of central London, Elephant Park is a flagship mixed-use development which is being delivered by Lendlease in collaboration with Southwark Council. The project is centred around a new park and has delivered 3,000 new homes so far. The development's retail and leisure space brings together a mix of independent operators and features global cuisine, cafés, fitness operators, leisure spaces, bars, and community purposes.

MINISO to join The Liberty Romford this spring
3 January 2025
MINISO is set to open a permanent store at Redical's The Liberty Romford, Greater London, following a successful pop-up activation which launched in December. Opening in a 2,270 sq ft store this spring, the global retailer will be located in the centre of the scheme overlooking Liberty Square. MINISO will offer branded products from the likes of Hello Kitty and Friends, Disney, and Harry Potter.
