NFU Mutual has acquired a retail park in Christchurch, Dorset from Orchard Street Investment Management for over £30m. Christchurch Retail Park spans 106,000 sq ft and is let to tenants including Homebase, Halfords, and Pets At Home. The asset is located just west of Christchurch railway station on the A35 – the main road linking Christchurch, Southampton, and Bournemouth. Park Place Retail advised NFU Mutual, whilst Savills advised the vendor Orchard Street Investment Management.

A fund managed by Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has acquired a Tesco supermarket in Poole from clients of Abrdn for £46.1m. The 95,000 sq ft store is located at the heart of the Poole-Bournemouth conurbation, and is supplemented by a 16-pump petrol station and a 599-space car park. In addition, 19 delivery vans operate from the store as well as a substantial click-and-collect facility.

Castlepoint Shopping Park in Bournemouth has celebrated a bumper festive period, having recorded an increase in footfall in the run-up to Christmas. During the four weeks to 28 December, visitor numbers to the scheme were up by 46% compared to the same period the year prior. This built on the growth in footfall in November, which saw numbers increase by 22% compared to 2022. The scheme benefitted from the arrival of a trio of big brands arriving in 2023, with Holland & Barrett, Hotel Chocolat, and Nike all opening at Castlepoint.
