Starbucks is set to open a new café in Livingston after signing a 15-year lease at The Centre. Opening in February 2025, the coffeehouse chain has agreed a deal to take 3,174 sq ft of space across units 305a and 305b. The signing follows the recent news that The Centre, Livingston is set to expand its leisure offering with the arrival of bowling operator Hollywood Bowl. DTZ Investors has acquired a Waitrose store and a Kwik-Fit branch at Morningside, Edinburgh, in a deal that exceeded the asking price of £18.5m. The two properties are located on the same retail parade, with the Waitrose store comprising 33,347 sq ft of retail space whilst Kwik-Fit occupies the adjacent 12,795 sq ft garage. Knight Frank – which acted for DTZ – said the two properties are amongst the brands' strongest trading locations.

Evolve Estates, part of commercial property and investment collective M Core, has signed two new tenants at the Penicuik Centre in Scotland. Sushi restaurant Yokohama Sushi has signed a 10-year lease for an 824 sq ft unit, joining other food and beverage tenants at the scheme including Greggs and Domino's. Meanwhile, Maj Gifts Ornaments will also join the scheme after signing a one-year lease for a 1,940 sq ft unit.
