French Connection has opened a new store at Clarks Village outlet centre in Somerset. The fashion retailer's launch is one of eight openings and refits at the shopping destination so far this year. Spanning 860 sq ft, the store will be located within the scheme's Apple Court mall. Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, said: "French Connection is a well-known global brand that enhances our fashion collection here at Clarks Village and its modern, sleek store is a welcome addition to the outlet.

Moss has opened a rebranded store at Clarks Village outlet centre in Somerset. The menswear brand, which recently dropped the 'Bros' from its name, has taken a 1,733 sq ft space in Apple Court, nearby to Vans and M&S. Ten stores opened under the Moss brand in 2023, including a flagship store in Manchester. In 2024, the Clarks Village store, alongside an opening in Edinburgh, bring the brand's UK portfolio to 110 stores.

A Travelodge hotel at Riverside Retail Park in Taunton, Somerset, has changed hands for £3.9m. The RO Group has sold the property to the Oddfellow's Unity United Property Investment Fund after retaining ownership for close to a decade, with the purchase reflecting a net initial yield of 6.375%. The 64-bedroom West Country hotel has a larger than typical room size and was recently given an upgraded Energy Performance Regulation rating of EPC B.
