Property collective M Core has submitted a planning application to transform a vacant site in Staffordshire into a retail and leisure development. Should the application be approved, the six-acre site – located at the Multipark Burntwood industrial park – is set to accommodate 52,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, including three drive-through units and two large spaces for retailers or leisure operators.

A retail park in Cannock, Staffordshire with a price tag of £5.35m has been acquired by Hobart Partners. Constructed in 2012, Roman Way Retail Park extends to a total area of 24,524 sq ft across a 1.88 acre site. The scheme comprises three retail warehouse units – fully let to DFS, Porcelanosa, and Starplan Furniture – and generates a rental income of £570,205.20. It also has a weighted average unexpired lease term of 7.

British Land has continued its retail park acquisition spree after purchasing Orbital Retail Park in Cannock, Staffordshire. The asset has been acquired from Clearbell Property Partners, a fund managed by Clearbell Capital, for £27.6m. The purchase comes after British Land recently snapped up a portfolio of seven schemes from Brookfield. The real estate investment trust also announced in September that it had spent £240m on retail parks since April.
