East Asian-inspired lifestyle brand KENJI is set to make its regional debut at Gateshead's Metrocentre next March. The retailer will be opening a 3,589 sq ft store on the scheme's Lower Green Mall, adjacent to Søstrene Grene which itself will open at the centre in November. The new store will offer a range of plushies, toys, stationery, fashion, homeware, and East Asian-inspired snacks. KENJI's signing at Metrocentre comes as the Lower Green Mall nears full occupancy, with a recent flurry of investment from new arrivals and existing tenants.

Maki & Ramen has signed for Metrocentre in Gateshead, meaning The Qube – the scheme's hospitality hub – is now fully let. The new 7,065 sq ft unit will be located in Upper Yellow Mall close to recent addition, Tomahawk Steakhouse. Maki & Ramen will serve a range of Japanese-inspired dishes with the capacity of just under 200 covers. The Qube in Yellow Mall is home to 20 brands covering over 80,000 sq ft of space, and is now fully let to a range of names including Nando’s, Wingstop, and Pizza Express, alongside local independents.
