The Affinity Lancashire outlet shopping centre in Fleetwood has reported an uplift in footfall following the return of its Artisan Street Fayre. The artisanal market, which was held on Saturday 7th March in partnership with SPG Events, delivered a 21.36% year-on-year increase in footfall, while also outperforming the previous weekend by 19.52%. The event was located within the centre’s events space and extended towards NEXT, bringing together 23 artisan stalls featuring independent makers, food producers, and craft traders from across the region.

Gym operator opens 100th UK & Ireland location

Gym operator Snap Fitness has opened its 100th location in the UK & Ireland, following the launch of its latest gym in Southport. Having opened its first site in Kent in 2012, Snap Fitness has grown to become the sixth-largest gym operator in the UK, with gyms in England, Wales, Scotland, and the Republic of Ireland. Between March 2023 and March 2024, Snap Fitness grew its membership base by 17.

One of the North West's largest IMAX screens to open in Blackpool

One of the largest IMAX screens in the North West is set to open at Houndshill Shopping Centre in Blackpool next month, asset manager Ellandi has announced. Opening on 22 March, Backlot Imax Cinema will feature a 10.85 metres high and 19.87 metres wide screen, complemented by a 100-seat diner serving burgers, hotdogs and wings, as well as a range of desserts. The Backlot has been designed to create an arts and entertainment hub for local residents and visitors, aiming to become the main place in town to host events such as corporate conferences, birthday parties, comedy nights, gaming nights, and community meet-ups.
