International investor acquires Manchester retail park

International investment giant PGIM has acquired Manchester Fort retail park from Nuveen. Located 1.5 miles north of the city centre, the 325,000 sq ft scheme comprises 36 units and is home to retailers such as Next, Boots, H&M, M&S, and TK Maxx. The acquisition adds to more than £100bn worth of assets currently under PGIM's management, including other assets in the North West such as the Lampwick Quay residential development in Manchester.

Popeyes cooks up Manchester Arndale opening

Popeyes UK is set to open a new restaurant at Manchester Arndale. The fried chicken restaurant chain has signed an agreement to take a 2,816 sq ft unit in the centre's food court alongside other quick-service restaurant brands. Popeyes opened its first restaurant in the UK in 2021 and now operates over 80 locations nationwide, with the Manchester Arndale opening forming part of its plans to open 45 new restaurants in 2025.

Market Place in Bolton has appointed Dave Pearman as general manager, bringing over 25 years of property management experience to the mixed-use destination. Pearman has previously held senior roles at Manchester Corn Exchange and Runcorn Shopping Centre, and has significant experience with mixed leisure, office, residential and standalone retail developments. His career began with the Sainsbury's Argos group, where he managed various high-profile projects, building relationships with agents through refurbishments and refits that eventually led him into shopping centre management.
