Legal & General has sold a landmark building in York city centre to Buccleuch Property for £5.25m. The property at 2-4 St Helen's Square is currently leased to the Ivy Restaurant Group and Castle Fine Art. Jackson Criss acted on behalf of Legal & General, whilst MHPI acted for Buccleuch Property. Oxygen Activeplay is set to launch its new concept at a retail park in York as the brand seeks new sites nationwide. The leisure operator - formerly just 'Oxygen' - will open the 20,000 sq ft flagship at Clifton Moor Centre Retail Park in February 2024. Oxygen York, which is the first site designed under the brand's new Activeplay Concept, will open following an investment of £2.3m. Comprising ground floor and mezzanine spaces, the centre will feature parkour zones, inflatable obstacle courses, climbing challenges, party rooms, and a sensory baby and toddler park.

Søstrene Grene has is set to open its latest store in York, as the Danish homeware retailer continues a string of openings. Taking a 5,000 sq ft unit, the retailer will open in the former Royal Bank of Scotland building at The Coach House, located on the corner of Nessgate and Low Ousegate. The news follows a number of recent openings for Søstrene Grene, including in Sheffield, Manchester, London, Chester, and Derby.
