Amsterdam-born menswear brand picks Chelsea's Kings Road for UK debut

Amsterdam-born menswear brand MR MARVIS has signed for its first UK store at 52 King's Road in Chelsea. The brand, known for its collection of shorts, trousers, and tops, will be entering its fourth market and its first outside of continental Europe when it opens in London at the end of summer. Originally an online-only brand, MR MARVIS has been working with real estate advisor Savills to focus on its bricks-and-mortar expansion, with the Chelsea store becoming the brand's 19th globally.

Canada Life sells Richmond retail investment for £3m

Canada Life Asset Management has completed the sale of a retail property in Richmond-upon-Thames for £3m. The property, located at 2-6 Hill Street and 2 Red Lion Street, is leased to Waterstones until January 2030 and produces an annual rental income of £172,500. The asset – which spans a total area of 6,179 sq ft across three floors – was sold at a 20% premium to the £2.5m asking price, reflecting a net initial yield of 5.

Hammerson looks to take full control of Brent Cross

Hammerson has confirmed that it is in the process of acquiring full control of Brent Cross shopping centre in Greater London. The real estate investment trust said that it intends to acquire the units within Abrdn's UK Shopping Centre Trust (SCUT) – which holds the 59% of the scheme not already held by Hammerson – for a total consideration of £200m. Hammerson's existing stake, together with the SCUT units it has already acquired or for which contracts have been exchanged, currently represents an interest in Brent Cross of over 90%.
