JD Sports is has tripled the size of its store at Manchester's Trafford Centre, and will reopen what becomes the brand's largest store globally. The sportswear retailer will open the doors to its flagship 41,000 sq ft store, which features a 92-metre frontage, this Saturday (June 7). The store will feature takeovers from brands such as Nike, Adidas, PUMA, On Running, as well as JD Sports exclusives.

Activewear brand Alo Yoga is set to open its first UK store outside of London on Manchester's New Cathedral Street. The brand has signed a 10-year lease for a 7,018 sq ft unit, and will join recent arrivals Arc'teryx and Represent on the luxury shopping street. Founded in Los Angeles, Alo Yoga looks to blend technical excellence with contemporary fashion, offering a collection of performance and lifestyle apparel for both women and men.

Two retail and hospitality occupiers have opened within the Manchester suburb of Didsbury, with Savills acting for the landlord on each of the lettings. At 756 Wilmslow Road, homeware and fashion retailer Oliver Bonas has signed a 10-year agreement with landlord Hyrst Garth Estate for a two-storey, 5,000 sq ft unit. Meanwhile, at the nearby 41/43 Lapwing Lane, Portas Tapas has opened its fourth restaurant in the North West of England after signing a 10-year lease with Lapwing Investments for a ground floor and basement unit, totalling 2,400 sq ft.
