Meadowhall 1 The Oasis, Meadowhall Centre, Sheffield, S9 1EP
Meadowhall, located on the outskirts of the country's 4th largest city, Sheffield, is Yorkshire’s premier shopping destination and one of only six out-of-town super regional centres in the UK. The Centre provides 1.5 million sq ft of high quality retail and leisure space to a diverse range of brands including M&S, Apple, Zara, White Company, Jigsaw, White Stuff, Hollister, Primark, Reiss, Victoria’s Secret, and Vue Cinema. The strength of Meadowhall’s appeal to retailers is reflected in its consistently high occupancy levels and long weighted average lease length. Meadowhall has around 300 stores and a leisure offer which now boasts an 11-screen cinema, Oasis Dining Quarter, which includes brands such as Tapas Revolution, Wagamama, TGI Friday’s, Nando’s, Zizzi’s, Five Guys and, Carluccio’s. The Centre also benefits from 12,000 free car parking spaces, as well as the Centre’s own public transport interchange for local and regional bus, train and Supertram services that run throughout the day. To mark the 25 year anniversary of Meadowhall, a substantial £60 million internal refurbishment started in late 2015 and will be completed by the end of 2017. The extensive works will create distinct districts within the Centre, each with a different finish including wood and punctured metal. The refurbishment will also enable a number of retailers to install double height shop fronts. The Park Lane area underwent a recent refresh, following which it has successfully attracted a number of premium retailers, including L’Occitane, T2, Joules, The White Company, Jigsaw and White Stuff. Meadowhall’s premium offer already includes LK Bennett, Reiss and Kurt Geiger. We are also drawing up plans for a 330,000 sq ft Leisure Hall at Meadowhall. The plans represent the single biggest investment in Meadowhall since it opened more than 25 years ago. At over £300 million, the proposals are also one of the largest investments in the Sheffield City Region for a decade and will create over 1,000 jobs. The proposed Leisure Hall will add a range of dining and entertainment experiences not currently available at the Centre. These include a number of new restaurants, a state-of-the-art cinema to replace the existing cinema in the Oasis Dining Quarter, a new cafe court, gym, and other leisure space that could be used to offer everything from ten-pin bowling to indoor golf.
