The 180,000 ft town centre provides over 60 shops and is anchored by a new ALDI store. This has been complemented by a large 25,000 sq ft Wilko as well as by brands such as Select fashions investing and refitting their stores.

The redevelopment of Aycliffe Town Centre is transforming the town as a retail destination, attracting new occupiers and providing a hub for Newton Aycliffe’s rapidly growing residential and business community.

The comprehensive refurbishment of the main shopping area is the latest phase of development within the masterplan. New flooring, finishes, facilities, seating and landscaping has revitalised the heart of the town.

A vibrant new brand and signage programme is now being rolled out and plans are underway for a £1m redevelopment of the town library and leisure centre, to open up the western end of the scheme and provide further commercial opportunities.

Newton Aycliffe is located just off the A1(M) some 20 miles South of Durham, 8 miles South East of Bishops Auckland and 6 miles North of Darlington.
