Frasers Group acquires 1.1 million sq ft Scottish Shopping Centre from SGS UK Retail

Frasers Group has acquired the 1.1 million sq ft Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow from SGS UK Retail. The shopping centre has been purchased for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £220m. SGS UK Retail – which also owns the Victoria Centre in Nottingham and Harlequin Watford – has delivered a transformation programme at Braehead since undergoing a restructuring process in 2024.

OMNES to open first Scottish store at Glasgow's Princes Square

OMNES is set to open its first store in Scotland at Glasgow's Princes Square, as the womenswear retailer continues its expansion outside of London. The store is one of three new openings for OMNES before the end of the year, after the retailer launched a pop-up store at Victoria Leeds and a concession within Fenwick's Newcastle store. The brand's Princes Square space will span 1,400 sq ft site, offering OMNES's autumn/winter range.

Snowflake Gelato opens first Scottish location at Braehead

Snowfake Gelato has made its Scottish debut at Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow. The dessert vendor has opened a 270 sq ft permanent kiosk, offering gelato, coffee, hot chocolate, crepes, and waffles. The kiosk is located on the scheme's upper mall, alongside Swarovski, Goldsmiths, and Lovisa. Huw Kmiot, associate director of asset management at Pradera Lateral, said: “The arrival of another highly anticipated Scottish debut at Braehead cements our reputation as the first-choice destination in Scotland.
