Chopstix has continued its nationwide expansion with the opening of its first restaurant in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Opening this month on King Street, the new location reflects the brand's ongoing plans to open in high traffic areas such as high street locations and traffic hubs. The addition of the Huddersfield restaurant follows several openings for Chopstix this year including in Brighton, Leeds, and most recently, Wolverhampton.

A shopping centre in Huddersfield town centre has been placed on the market with a £36.25m asking price, reflecting a net initial yield of 10.5%. Spanning 280,000 sq ft, Kingsgate Shopping Centre sits on a freehold 5.41 acre site and is anchored by Sports Direct, Tk Maxx, and leisure operator The Light, which opened this year. Hines, acting on behalf of Hines Global Income Trust (HGIT), has acquired Junction 27 retail park in Birstall, near Leeds, from Tritax Big Box. The acquisition marks HGIT's entry into the UK retail market, and further diversifies the trust's $4.5bn (£3.4bn) portfolio. The fully-let retail park comprises 13 units across over 131,000 sq ft of net rentable space. Tenants include Currys, Furniture Village, ScS, Barker and Stonehouse, Pizza Express, TGI Fridays, and Zizzi.
