TeamSport to open £6m indoor go-karting track in Bicester
5 August 2024
Indoor karting operator TeamSport has reached an agreement with industrial centre Bicester Motion to invest £6m into a new indoor electric go-kart centre. The proposed two-storey track will be constructed within Bicester Motion's Hangar 137, a 31,000 sq ft Grade II-listed building. Bicester Motion will invest £4m to restore and rejuvenate the hangar whilst TeamSport will create a £2m 500 metre electric go-karting track, as it looks to boost grassroots and female motorsports.

Hammerson to dispose of £1.5bn stake in Bicester Village owner

Hammerson has agreed to sell its interest in Bicester Village owner Value Retail to Silver Bidco, a special purpose vehicle established by affiliates of investment firm L Catterton, for an enterprise value of £1.5bn. The REIT said the transaction will generate cash proceeds of around £600m which are intended to be deployed in line with its stated capital allocation framework, namely to further strengthen its balance sheet, invest in growth and value creation, and enhance distributions to shareholders.

Loungers celebrates landmark opening amid expansion

Restaurant and bar operator Loungers has opened its 200th Lounge site in Buckingham, as the group continues to expand. The opening of the Verdetto Lounge means the group, which also owns the Cosy Club and Brightside chains, now has a total estate of 238 sites. In July, the group said it had identified potential for at least 600 Lounges across the UK, and had announced that it intends to open 34 news sites across its three brands in the current year alone.
