CLUBHOUSE UK, a new padel, fitness gym, and coffee lounge is set to join Hyndburn Retail Park in Blackburn. Opening in September, the 23,000 sq ft facility will feature six padel courts, along with fitness facilities and a social space serving coffee, smoothies, protein shakes, and light bites. Indian street food café Chaiiwala has opened its second drive-through location as it targets 500 locations internationally over the next 10 years. The 2,000 sq ft restaurant has opened in partnership with EG On The Move at a former KFC and Costa site in Mellor Brook, outside Blackburn. The new restaurant is Chaiiwala's 112th location worldwide, and comes after the brand recently opened in Bolton, launching the UK's first drive-through restaurant that serves Indian street food.

The developer behind the transformation of the Wigan Pier complex has begun a search for operators to populate the development. Step Places, which is working in conjunction with Wigan Council on the project, is looking for leisure, culture, and entertainment operators for the 55,000 sq ft scheme. The redevelopment of the pier, which was made famous in George Orwell's The Road to Wigan Pier, has seen the creation of space for offices, retail and leisure operators, as well as community facilities.
