Marks & Spencer is set to open its third food store in a fortnight in Farnham, Surrey this week. The Farnham store, which opens on Wednesday 25th, spans 18,600 sq ft and is one of 12 former Homebase sites that M&S is redeveloping. Last week, the retailer opened a 16,000 sq ft store in Luton Bramingham, also a former Homebase unit, as well as a 15,000 sq ft food store at Hatfield Oldings Corner.

Sovereign Network Group (SNG) has appointed FMX Urban Property Advisers as sole advisers at Princes Mead Shopping Centre in Farnborough, Hampshire. The 149,000 sq ft shopping centre is anchored by tenants including Asda, Smyths Toys, Boots, Decathlon, and JD Sports. NewRiver is the scheme's asset manager. SNG acquired the shopping centre in 2023 and is now looking to focus on a strategy for Princes Mead that will strengthen its position as the dominant retail offer in Farnborough.

US-based real estate investment trust Realty Income has acquired The Lexicon shopping centre in Bracknell for around £150m. The asset has been sold by a joint venture between Schroder Capital UK Real Estate Fund and Legal & General Capital, CoStar News has reported. The 1 million sq ft shopping destination – which was developed by the joint venture in partnership with the local council – is home to tenants such as Marks & Spencer, Primark, JD Sports, and Next.
