A <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/belfast">Belfast</a> retail park has welcomed the first JD Gyms location in Northern Ireland as part of a duo of signings.



The gym operator has opened a 23,000 sq ft site at <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/hillview-retail-park-belfast-7950">Hillview Retail Park</a>, following a £2.05m investment.



Trade retailer Screwfix has also opened at the scheme, with the two signings bringing the retail park's occupancy rate to 90%.



Hillview Retail Park now has just one 8,530 sq ft vacant unit remaining, whilst one drive-through and one drive-to site are also available.



Matthew McNutt, asset manager at Hillview Centre Belfast, said: "I am pleased to welcome JD Gyms and Screwfix to Hillview Retail Park, bolstering the strong occupier line-up and further establishing Hillview as a prominent retail, leisure and food and beverage destination.&nbsp;



"It is significant that JD Gyms have chosen Hillview as their first location on this island and their substantial investment, together with the opening of Screwfix, endorses the scheme as a much sought-after location on the northern periphery of the city centre."



Matt Sykes, head of operations at JD Gyms, added: "Hillview Retail Park is the perfect location for our first gym in Northern Ireland. With Hillview located just one mile from the city centre, within easy access of the primary motorway network and an area of c. 60,000 people, it felt like the perfect fit. It's been fantastic to see the gym take shape over the last couple of months and we are confident there's nothing like it in the area."

Rituals has opened its largest UK store at <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/victoria-square-belfast-5054">Victoria Square</a> in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/belfast">Belfast</a>, as the scheme welcomes over 40,000 sq ft of new brands in 2023.



The cosmetics retailer has opened a 3,530 sq ft upsized store on the lower floor, adjacent to Ted Baker. The opening also marks the debut of Rituals' new store concept which will be rolled out nationwide.



Rituals at Victoria Square has also been joined by beauty and make-up brand Sculpted by Aimee, which makes its debut in Northern Ireland. Taking a 1,500 sq ft unit, the store features products and accessories created by the company's founder, former make-up artist Aimee Connolly.



Over the last 12 months, Victoria Square has welcomed a number of fashion and lifestyle brands for regional debuts and new flagship locations in Northern Ireland. This includes the recent arrivals of <a href="https://news.completelyretail.co.uk/the-white-company-to-make-regional-debut-in-northern-ireland/">The White Company</a>, Sweaty Betty, Gilly Hicks, Goldsmiths, Gym+Coffee, and Lovisa.



The scheme's food and beverage offering has also been bolstered during the last year, with a refurbished Frankie &amp; Benny's and a new Slim Chickens flagship restaurant joining existing tenants including Wagamama, Five Guys, and Burger King.

Pret a Manger is set to make its debut in Northern Ireland with an opening in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/belfast">Belfast</a> City Centre.



Launching later this year, the shop will be operated by Pret's long-standing franchisee, Carebrook Partnership.



The coffee shop in Donegall Square West will be Pret a Manger's fourth on the island of Ireland, having already opened three in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/dublin">Dublin</a> over the last 18 months.



The chain has plans to open a further 20 shops across the island over the next decade.



Clare Clough, UK and Ireland managing director at Pret A Manger, said: “We’re delighted to be opening Pret’s first-ever shop in Northern Ireland as part of our ambitious plans to bring Pret to more people. We’ve long heard that Belfast locals and visitors would love to have a Pret, so we can’t wait to welcome them to our new shop right in the heart of the city with our longstanding franchise partner Carebrook, who has had much success operating Pret shops in the UK and on the island of Ireland”.



Pret operates in 15 markets across three continents, and expects to have over 700 shops globally by the end of the year.
