A retail park in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/chesterfield">Chesterfield</a> has hit the market with a price tag of £6,000,000, reflecting a net initial yield of 8.5%.



<a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/wheatbridge-retail-park-chesterfield-2350">Wheatbridge Retail Park</a> extends to 52,944 sq ft and is fully let to Wickes, Carpetright, and Smyths Toys.



The asset has a weight average unexpired lease term of 9.3 years to expiry, with both Wickes and Carpertright having recently extended their leases, whilst Smyths recently signed a new lease. The retail park has a passing rent of £544,488 per annum, equating to an average of £10.28 sq ft.



The scheme – which sits on a 3.41 acre freehold site – is also supplemented by a 209-space car park



Wheatbridge Retail Park is located just west of Chesterfield town centre and sits in the town's main retail warehouse pitch. It is situated close by to Ravenside Retail Park, Markham Retail Park, Spires Retail Park, and Lordsmill Street Retail Park.



Park Place Retail has been instructed to find a suitable buyer.

<a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/scheme/meadowhall-sheffield-3590">Meadowhall</a> shopping centre in <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/sheffield">Sheffield</a> has welcomed the arrival of South Yorkshire-based vintage clothing retailer Glass Onion.



The zero-waste fashion business has opened a 3,000 sq ft pop-up store on Lower High Street.



Founded in 2006, the retailer processes up to 20,000 kgs of second-hand clothing every week to produce 12,000 garments a month. Each piece of clothing produced and sold by Glass Onion was originally set to head to landfill.



Candice Birch, commercial property solicitor at Mason Thomas Law, which acted for Glass Onion, said: "I am delighted to have played a small role in helping Glass Onion achieve its expansion on the high street. They're an ongoing success story which we're very proud to be associated with."



Dan Green, Glass Onion director of finance and operations, added: "With special thanks to Mason Thomas Law for such a quick turnaround and for being so reactive. We really appreciate the support and service they have given us throughout this process."



Mason Thomas Law also acted for Glass Onion in securing its store on Division Street, Sheffield, which opened in October 2023.

Meadowhall welcomes local vintage clothing retailer

Fashion retailer The Cream Store is set to open at <a href="https://completelyretail.co.uk/shops-to-rent/sheffield">Sheffield's</a> Heart of the City scheme.



Taking a 3,000 sq ft unit on the ground floor of Burgess House, the store will stock clothing and accessories from a number of rotating brands including Carhartt WIP, Fred Perry, Edwin, Nudie Jeans Co and Gramicci.



The Sheffield store will become the retailer's second in the UK, following the opening of its debut site in Nuneaton in 2005.



The Heart of the City scheme is led by Sheffield City Council alongside development partner Queensberry.



Councillor Ben Miskell, chair of the transport, regeneration and climate policy committee at Sheffield City Council, said: "We are thrilled to welcome The Cream Store to Heart of the City. It's another significant addition to the scheme's growing fashion offer and builds on the likes of Weekday, Monki, and the recently signed Fjällräven and Yards Store.



"This is going to be a huge year for Heart of the City and the wider city centre, with the Cambridge Street Collective food hall, Leah's Yard and Bethel Chapel all set to open in the coming months."



Alex Hyams, senior asset and leasing manager at Queensberry, added: "The Cream Store is a contemporary independent menswear retailer, which epitomises the best of modern-day retail, housing premium brands in a clean and smart environment. This letting complements the emerging retailer line-up very well and continues to elevate the quality of the shopping experience in Sheffield city centre."
