Pioneer Square is an exciting new £70 million development which brings a much needed large format supermarket to the heart of the town centre.

The newly opened development is anchored by 56,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s store, which includes a 526 space car park over two levels. Pioneer Square includes new retail units fronting the supermarket, which in turn links into the newly refurbished Crown Walk mall.

Since opening in July 2013, the development has proved to be a great success, with the Sainsbury’s store trading above expectations. Over 75% of the new floorspace has been let to Nandos, Biagio and Peacocks with only the last few units remaining.

A new 7 screen cinema operated by Vue lies adjacent to the new supermarket with associated restaurants, retail units and a new bus interchange.

Pioneer Square is easily accessed from the main pedestrianised Sheep Street, where retailers include, amongst others, Superdrug, New Look, Vision Express, Boots, Argos and The Edinburgh Woollen Mill. It is also accessed from Market Square via Crown Walk, where retailers include WHSmith, Boots Opticians and H Samuel. Bicester also offers a wide range of local and regional retailers with weekly markets taking place on Fridays.
