The site is situated adjacent to the new Persimmon Saxon Fields housing development of circa 190 houses. Taylor Wimpey, Cala, Mactaggart and Mickel are also building around 1,200 houses on the south side of West Road at Letham Mains. Immediately adjoining the recently constructed internal access road, adjacent to the site, Sainsbury’s have obtained planning consent and are proposing to construct a new Superstore which is likely to be open for business in the first half of 2017. The site is therefore located in the heart of the major residential and commercial developments taking place in Haddington. Haddington which has a population in the order of 9,000 is the main administrative town in East Lothian and is situated approximately 20 miles east of Edinburgh.
