A trio of retailers have signed new leases at the Waterside Centre, with H&M, Next, and The Body Shop all recommitting to the Lincoln scheme. H&M has agreed to commit to the centre for another 15 years, and is also investing into a £2m revamp which will give the scheme's largest store a new look and feel. Meanwhile, Next and The Body Shop have both recommitted to the Waterside Centre for another five years.

Pan-Asian quick-service restaurant Chopstix has continued its UK expansion alongside franchise partner RTL Enterprises with the opening of a restaurant in Lincoln. The new restaurant on Lincoln High Street follows a number of openings for the franchisee in 2023, including a site at Baker Street in central London which opened in October. RTL says it has worked closely with Chopstix franchise director, Aaron Moore-Saxton, to identify high potential locations to allow the franchisee to grow with the brand at speed.

Begbies Traynor has continued the expansion of its property division with the acquisition of Lincoln-based firm Banks Long & Co. The financial services giant's property arm, Eddisons, has acquired the firm of chartered surveyors for an initial consideration of £1.5m. Begbies Traynor said the move strengthens its regional presence across eastern England and South Yorkshire. The firm acquired Sheffield-based surveyors Mark Jenkinson & Son in March for £400,000, and Northampton-based consultancy Budworth Hardcastle in June 2022 Banks Long & Co.
