JD Sports is set to upsize its store at Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow. The retailer will expand its presence by a third when the new store – which will be located on the destination's lower level and extend to 18,000 sq ft – opens in 2026. The expansion comes as a response to strong demand from shoppers, and will enable to retailer to showcase a wider selection of athleisure, footwear, accessories, and sportswear products for men, women, and children.

Bowling concept King Pins has opened its first venue in Scotland at Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow. The operator's 21,000 sq ft site offers activities including bowling, virtual shooting, ice-free curling, electronic darts, and arcades. The venue also offers an on-site bar and eatery. Since opening its first two sites in Manchester in summer 2023 and May 2024, King Pins has continued to expand across the UK, having recently opened a venue in Bristol’s Cabot Circus.

A 50% stake in Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow is coming to market with a price tag of £85m. Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed to find a suitable purchaser, CoStar News has reported. The asset – which opened in 2007 – comprises 125 units let to retailers including M&S, Next, H&M, TK Maxx, as well as Zara and H Beauty, which occupy the former Debenhams department store.
