Refreshed line-up sees footfall increase at Braehead Shopping Centre

Braehead Shopping Centre saw a significant year-on-year increase in footfall during 2024, as the Glasgow scheme refreshed its retail and F&B line-up. Throughout last year, footfall was up by 8.5% at Braehead Shopping Centre compared to 2023. During the Q4 'golden quarter', footfall increased by 5.7% year-on-year, capping off a year which saw a number of new tenants arrive at the scheme. New retailers that arrived at Braehead Shopping Centre in 2024 included fashion brands Mango, Phase Eight, Castore, and Remus Uomo, as well as health and beauty retailers Rituals and KIKO Milano.

British Land to launch public consultation for major Glasgow Fort expansion

British Land is set to launch a public consultation regarding plans for a 60,000 sq ft expansion of Glasgow Fort retail park. Included in the proposals is the creation of new retail space as well as more leisure experiences, including tenpin bowling, karaoke, laser quest, and escape rooms. British Land said the plans have been created in response to increasing demand from visitors to Glasgow Fort, and that the new additions will complement the existing retail and leisure offering.

Popeyes makes Scottish shopping centre debut at Braehead

Fried chicken restaurant chain Popeyes is set to open for the first time within a Scottish shopping centre at Glasgow's Braehead Shopping Centre. Seating up to 74 diners, the restaurant will serve Popeyes' signature dishes including chicken sandwiches, wings, tenders, and biscuits with gravy. As part of an ongoing expansion, Popeyes at Braehead Shopping Centre will become the brand's 65th restaurant in the UK and its fourth in Scotland.
