Freeport Fleetwood is an established 120,000 sq ft outlet centre attracting c1.4 million visitors pa of which c400,000 are tourists. The centre is anchored by Marks & Spencer, Next and GAP. The estate also includes a new 18,500 sq ft Home Bargains and a busy McDonalds Drive Through.

The architecture of the new terrace will take reference from some of the successful design features introduced into the outlet centre a few years ago and the buildings will be clad in an ordered mixture of materials, flat panels, split faced brickwork and timber like boarding. The canopy will be a series of pitched glazed roofs supported on masts, cables and rods in an aesthetic reminiscent of sailing ships.

Gables above each shop will incorporate sign positions so as to enable each unit to be very prominent across the main car park and from the passing main road.

The centre is operated by REALM Ltd on behalf of Hermes and LaSalle Investment Management.

The proposed units are to be developed on land forming part of Freeport Fleetwood Outlet Village, adjacent to the main A585, close to Fleetwood town centre and visible from the large ASDA supermarket. Fleetwood has a resident population of c30,000.
