The Loughborough Wharf Development is based around the canal basin in Loughborough (the only prime waterfront location in the town).

The development currently incorporates 179 residential student units and a ground floor oriental restaurant. Work has also been completed on the 87-bed Travelodge that is trading successfully.

Loughborough is located off junction 23 of the M1, benefiting from good communications and access to Nottingham and Leicester. It is well provided for by rail being positioned on the Nottingham to London railway line.

Charnwood Borough has a population of approximately 155,000, and Loughborough has a population of circa 57,000 including a student population of approximately 14,000. The town is Leicestershire’s second largest settlement outside Leicester and is boosted by the well renowned University with its exceptional sports facilities, and the University was selected by the British Olympic Association (BOA) as The Official Preparation Camp Headquarters for Team GB prior to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Loughborough Wharf Development is located on the Derby Road (A6), the main arterial road through Loughborough town centre. The development is opposite Sainsbury’s supermarket and the Regents Place retail park, and adjacent to The Rushes shopping centre which incorporates Argos, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, The Bath Store, HMV amongst others.

The area, and in particular Derby Road through to the town centre is a well-established pitch for a range of bars and restaurants.
