Strategically located circa halfway between Belfast and Londonderry the subject service station occupies a key arterial roundabout outside of Toome. As such it services both directions of vehicular traffic flow.

The A6 is a strategic route linking Belfast and the North West enhancing access to and from Belfast, Londonderry, Magherafelt, Antrim and Belfast International Airport. The A6 is undergoing a £400m upgrade to convert to a motorway/dual carriageway. Phase 1 £189 million Randalstown to Magherafelt upgrade completed in May 2021. Phase 2 (£220m) Londonderry to Dungiven is due to complete in 2022. Traffic count at Toome is estimated at 22k vehicles per day. Primary destinations along the A6 include Antrim, Randalstown, Toome, Maghera, Magherafelt, Portglenone, Cookstown and all 3 of Northern Irelands Airports.
